Thursday, May 23, 2019  – Even Day

Today’s Highlights:

  • Another good day on the water yesterday for the girls varsity rowing team.   The lightweight 4, Hannah Ulinger, Maddy Van Ostrand, Amanda Johnson, Julia Gill and Macy Hammond,  placed second. The girls varsity 4 also placed second, Naomi Hawkins, Bizzy Katz, Ellie Kolor, Katy Gagliardi, and Grace Phillips.

Class News:

  • Attention Juniors! Your Senior Portrait will be taken today and again on 5/28. These are the only scheduled dates for senior portraits. You must make an appointment ASAP. Call 1-800-333-2560 the Essential sitting is free. These will be the only pictures accepted for senior portraits in the yearbook. See Mrs. Stong with any questions.

Spartan Sports:

  • You can sign up for a Fall sport in the Athletic Office - room 107
  • There will be a girls basketball meeting Wednesday May 29 at 2:10 in the gym. Anyone interested in playing girls basketball should attend.
  • Come play Basketball after school Mon-Thurs from 2:10-2:45 in the gym. See Mrs. Johnson with questions.

  • Sophomores, there will be a Junior Prom planning meeting on today after school in room 111, all are welcome.

  • Attention Juniors! Your Senior Portrait will be taken this week thru Thursday and again on 5/28. These are the only scheduled dates for senior portraits. You must make an appointment ASAP.   • The rowing team had another successful weekend. The Freshman Girls 4 finished third at the Chargers Invite in Syracuse on Saturday and won the league championship on Sunday! The boat consists of Katy Gagliardi, Nordalis Vega, Hannah Ulinger, Grace Philips, and Amanda Johnson.
  • Fall sports sign ups are now open.  You can sign up for a Fall sport in the Athletic Office - room 107

Monday, May 13, 2019  – Even Day

 

Today’s Highlights:

  • The crew team competed in the rowing state championship this weekend. Congratulations to Hannah Ullinger, Grace Phillips, Nordelise Vega, Amanda Johnson and Katie Gagliardi for placing 2nd in the Women’s Freshman 4. Brent Ackerman and Jude Kurzam advanced to the finals and placed 6th for  the Men’s Double. The Boys Freshman 4 boat advanced to the finals and came in 8th. Allyn Stavanau, Brayden Davis, Satvik Kukreti, Yousef Haddad and Daniel Eng-Kohn.The Girls Junior 4 advanced to the finals Bizzy Katz, Macy Hammond, Ellie Kohlor, Amelia Chaplin Madison VanOstrand - placed 7th in their petite final.

Today’s Highlights:

  • “Cookies for Cancer” will be available in the lobby again after school Today.. All donations for these delicious cookies will go toward helping fund research to find cures for pediatric cancer. .
  • SGO will be meeting TODAY Wednesday in room 218 after school. All members are expected to attend. We are preparing items for teacher appreciation.

Class News:

  • The Junior Prom Committee is looking for mason jars, if you have any you would be willing to donate please bring to room 216 (Ms. Girard’s room)

Tuesday, May 7, 2019  – Even Day

 

Today’s Highlights:

  • “Cookies for Cancer” will be available in the lobby after school Today and Tomorrow.. All donations for the delicious cookies will go toward helping fund research to find cures for pediatric cancer. .

Class News:  

  • The Junior Prom Committee is looking for mason jars, if you have any you would be willing to donate please bring to room 216 (Ms. Girard’s room)
  • Juniors please get your seating assignment sheet to Ms. Girard by Thursday, May 9 to Ms. Girard.  
  • Sophomore Class it’s time to start planning your Junior Prom! There will be a meeting to organize a prom committee on Wednesday after school in room 111. All are welcome!

Club Happenings:  

  • The next meeting of Student Government will be Wednesday, May 8th after school in Room 218. Please be on time as we will be making teacher appreciation gifts.

Student Info:

  • Applications for the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Youth Academy are now available. The Academy will take place July 8th - 12th at the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department. See Officer Kilfoyle for applications and more information.  
  • The Elementary and Secondary PTA’s are hosting a 2 1/2 mile color run on Saturday, May 18 at Todd Middle School.  Registration will begin at 9:00 am with the race starting at 10 am. Pre-register at http://shop.schoolathon.org/191376 by May 12 and you will get a t-shirt to wear the day of the run. We hope to see you there.
  • Student volunteers are needed to help on the day of the PTA sponsored Color Run, Saturday, May 18.  Please see Ms. Girard if you are willing to help. Volunteer Hours will be awarded.

Spartan Sports:

  • Mandatory Meeting for all football players and anyone interested in playing football next year on Wednesday May 8th in Room 214 at 2:04. All players must attend. See Coach DeSouza with any questions.
  • Come play Basketball after school Mon-Thurs from 2:10-2:45 in the gym. See Mrs. Johnson with questions.
